American Federation of Teachers Leader Randi Weingarten is at it again. I received an email from her by way of this link: Randi Weingarten included her email with the note: e-activist@action.aft.org. I suspect the address is far more telling that anything I could write. Weingarten also refers to a link that is called AFT votes. Since I have been a member of the American Association of University Professors for some time now to keep informed on what is happening in the field, it is telling that apparently they share their email lists with the likes of Randi Weingarten.
One of the other glaring errors in Ms. Weingarten’s diatribe was her constantly referring to our Constitutional Republic as a “Democracy.” This is standard tactic of communists and liberal activists as it absolves them of the constitutional principles that protect the rest of us from people like her. They can justify oxymoronic terms like “social justice”, and the “isms” using the term “justice” as a verb instead of a noun. You would think someone so well educated as she professes to be, would know the difference between a democratic form of government versus a constitutional republic.
Weingarten also spends a lot of time screeching about President Trump. She is asking members whose student loan repayment amounts that have “increased” under the Trump Administration to personally contact her. Hmm, you mean the fact that folks with student loans have to start paying them back after a multiple year hiatus? Weingarten wants to hear the challenges teachers face with shortages of supplies, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been in education and have the utmost respect for professional educators (emphasis on professional). I have absolutely have no use for Weingarten and her ilk. They spend educators’ dues for socialistic advocacy that has very little to do with education. Likewise, the AFT is the single-most entity responsible for the reprehensible state of our public education system.
I encourage you to use the above email link to let Ms Weingarten know how you feel about her activism. While you are at it, might you also suggest to her that a Dale Carnegie course might be beneficial to improving her speaking skills.
