Fox News reports that GOP Candidate for Congress from Tennessee Mat Van Epps has defeated the ultra liberal Aftyn Behn, who openly said she hated Nashville, country music and everything else about Nashville and Tennessee. The fact that the race was so close speaks a warning to the GOP. There needs to be action on the economy, cost of living, and health care. Don’t kick the can down the road. Fair or not, that is why this race was so close in a district that Donald Trump won in the last election by over 20 points. Tonight Bill O’Reilly on the No Spin News (12-1-25). also said Congress and the President need to do a better job of leadership and display a more stable and thoughtful approach with less name calling and more solutions. I agree.
While it’s a relief to keep that GOP slot in congress, there is by no means a mandate for the GOP. The fact that the President and high profile members of his administration and ranking members of the House and Senate had to campaign on Van Epps behalf says loud and clear that things need to start moving very soon and well before the primaries for 2026 midterms.
The last thing this country needs is a divided Congress that will spend all the time available trying to kick out President Trump. They did it last time and they will do it again. We need strong conservative candidates to run and support GOP efforts to increase the numbers in both the House and the Senate. We need to actively appeal to Independents and moderate Democrats. It starts with each of you. Get out and vote; encourage strong conservative people to run for public office; support the GOP in time, talent and money; and then pay attention and when necessary, challenge the ridiculous narrative from the loony left. Speak truth to power.
