We Can’t Do It Alone

“Officer Needs Assistance” – “Request For Back Up” – “Officer Down” are all familiar phrases for those in public safety. The mindset that I can do it my myself is often required but not always very smart. It’s seen as being kind of “John Wayne-ish” and it could cost you your life. A smart officer knows he needs help from time to time.

It’s the same with other aspects of our life. Family Relationships, financial dealings, even work around the house requires that we get help. To strengthen our lives and relationships with others we need to be willing to both give and receive help.

Sometimes that help comes in very simple ways such as someone just giving a recommendation or lending a hand physically. Often we need professional help from trained professionals like counselors or CISM facilitators. Of course there is always a need for Spiritual encouragement.

Are there others kinds of help that you would like to add to this?
