Turn a Weakness into a Strength

”And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness…” (Romans 8:26 NLT).

This is a passage from a recent devotional I received by email. It got me thinking, especially during this time of economic hardship for many with all the negative stuff in the news that we are not alone. Maybe you are facing a financial challenge, maybe you know someone who has an addiction problem, maybe you are just frustrated with all the anger and unhappiness you are dealing with on the job. Remember that God can turn that sorrow or weakness into a strength. I remember a pastor telling me one time that God will never give you anything that He and you can’t work out together. It was those words that comforted me when I was at my mom’s side as she passed on to the Great Hereafter last September.

The Holy Spirit can give you victory over adversity, turn a weakness into a strength and guide you through troubled times if you allow the Spirit to do so.

If you are feeling stressed, down, frustrated or angry, ask God to send the Holy Spirit to you to guide you through and have the strength to overcome the challenge or adversity.

God’s strength through the Holy Spirit is amplified when more than one believer gets together to claim His name and to invoke the strength of His promise to us. There is strength through the Spirit when His believers gather to pray and ask for help.

It won’t always be easy but ultimately, God will give us the victory.
