Postscript

Just a short note that Minnesota Twins Pitcher Brad Radke announced his retirement today. I watched his press conference on the news this evening. Much like his tenacious career, he was a class act right up to the end.

With very few exceptions, Twins players have served as good role models to kids. I’ve watched them interact with kids during games and despite the intensity of the game, the players continue to banter back and forth with the kids around the dugout.

My son’s interest in baseball at the age of 17 can be attributed in a large part to the exposure to Twins players and the way they have conducted themselves these past 8 years. We can feel fortunate that unlike other sports teams, the Twins seem to still hold value of the need to represent the community well.

Radke’s presence will be missed.
