Trooper Calvin W. Jenks, 24, of the Tennessee Highway Patrol was shot and killed on a traffic stop on January 6th.

Trooper Jenks had served his agency for nearly 3 years. He is survived by his wife, parents, four brothers, a sister, grandparents and a large extended family.

Deputy Sheriff Rahamy Mitchell, 38, of the Fannin County, Texas Sheriff’s Office died on January 7th as a result of injuries he received in an automobile accident that happened on January 7th.

Deputy Mitchell had served his agency as a licensed officer since 2003. He is survived by his 16 year-old son, father and sister.

Police Officer Tyron Franklin, 23, of the Paterson, New Jersey Police Department was shot and killed after he was identified as a police officer during a robbery attempt at a local fast food restaurant on January 7th.

Officer Franklin had served his agency for 8 months. He is survived by his 16 month-old son.

Detective Troy Lamont Chesley Sr., 34, of the Baltimore City, Maryland Police Department was shot and killed during an off duty robbery attempt on January 9th.

Detective Chesley served his agency for 13 years. He is survived by his two sons.

Sergeant James P. Hardin
, 35, of the Hope Mills, North Carolina Police Department died after suffering a fatal heart attack on January 11th while searching the woods for a suspect having stolen gas from a service station.

Sergeant Hardin served his agency for 9 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
