Fear is Not A Weakness

…an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. ‘Joseph, son of David,’ the angel said, ‘do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit’” (Matthew 1:20, NLT).

In public safety work, fear can be a life-saving part of our lives. Often the macho part, or that “John Wayne” syndrome kicks in often puts us or those with us at risk.

The above scripture passage addressed a different type of fear. One of social stigma. One not so unalike the challenges especially to law enforcement officers who are faced with the dilemma of standing up and honoring their oath or to look the other way to avoid causing problems for a coworker or friend. Fortunately, with few exceptions, they do the right thing, day in and day out. There is always that fear, however, that the next call can put their lives and/or their careers in jeopardy.

God provides the strength and wisdom to help guide you through those difficult choices and decisions. He is always with you.

He always has your back…you need only ask.
